CEI Senior Inspector
Location: Atlanta, GA
Position Type: Full-Time
Willmer Engineering is seeking a highly experienced CEI Senior Inspector to join our transportation team. In this leadership field role, you will oversee construction engineering inspections on roadway and infrastructure projects, ensuring contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations. You'll work alongside seasoned professionals while playing a key role in maintaining quality, accuracy, and project success in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to department goals by supporting project delivery, fees, and profit objectives.
  • Lead construction engineering inspections (CEI) for roadway and infrastructure projects.
  • Perform complex daily inspections of grading, paving, drainage, bridges, and structures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior inspectors, providing technical guidance in the field.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs, records, field measurements of pay items, and inspection reports.
  • Conduct or oversee quality assurance sampling and testing of construction materials.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with DOT standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and engineers.
  • Research field conditions and recommend solutions to construction issues.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of roadway or transportation construction inspection experience required.
  • Experience on DOT (GDOT, TDOT, or similar) or municipal projects strongly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician, NICET, or State DOT Inspector credentials required or preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and field testing procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency in construction documentation systems such as SiteManager, LIMS, or FieldBook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
