Job description

Senior Assistant Manager
The Senior Assistant Manager is a key leadership position at Slick City Action Park Katy and serves as a direct support system for the General Manager (GM). This position is responsible for helping the GM oversee daily operations, follow through on company initiatives, maintain accountability across the management team, and ensure the park operates at a high standard.
The Senior Assistant Manager should be someone the GM can rely on to take ownership, identify problems before they become larger issues, follow through on assignments, and help keep the entire management team organized and accountable.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupporting the General Manager
  • Act as the GM's primary support partner in day-to-day park operations.
  • Assist the GM with executing company initiatives, operational changes, and new procedures.
  • Follow up with managers and team members on assignments given by the GM and ensure tasks are completed.
  • Help the GM maintain accountability across all departments and management positions.
  • Identify operational issues and bring solutions to the GM rather than simply reporting problems.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly operational priorities established by the GM.
  • Help prepare and organize information, reports, schedules, checklists, and other materials requested by the GM.
  • Assist with reviewing sales performance, guest feedback, labor needs, staffing concerns, and operational metrics.
  • Help ensure that important communication from the GM is clearly communicated to managers and team members.
  • Follow up on maintenance, cleanliness, safety, staffing, and guest-service concerns until they are resolved.
  • Assist the GM with preparing for meetings, manager check-ins, training, hiring events, and other park initiatives.
  • Help maintain consistency between management expectations and what is actually being executed on the floor.
  • Step in and take ownership of operational responsibilities when the GM is unavailable.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for the GM and help provide accurate updates on park operations.
Internal Leadership & Management Support
  • Work closely with the Assistant Managers and other members of the leadership team to maintain strong communication.
  • Hold managers and team members accountable to company standards and expectations.
  • Help coach managers on leadership, guest service, sales, safety, and team performance.
  • Assist with manager development and identify opportunities for additional training or coaching.
  • Conduct follow-ups with managers regarding unfinished tasks, performance concerns, and operational priorities.
  • Help ensure managers are properly delegating responsibilities to team members.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and ownership.
  • Communicate concerns to the GM promptly and professionally while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Help ensure management is operating as one team and presenting consistent expectations to employees.
Daily Operations
  • Support opening and closing procedures and ensure required tasks are completed.
  • Monitor park operations and step in wherever additional leadership is needed.
  • Maintain a strong focus on guest experience, safety, cleanliness, and facility standards.
  • Monitor attractions and ensure safety procedures and operating standards are followed.
  • Respond to guest concerns and assist managers with escalated situations.
  • Assist with staffing, breaks, rotations, and coverage when needed.
  • Monitor front desk, cafรฉ, attractions, parties, and other departments to ensure operational standards are being met.
  • Assist with incident documentation and ensure safety concerns are properly communicated and addressed.
  • Report maintenance and facility issues and follow up to ensure repairs are completed.
Sales & Business Performance
  • Assist the GM with driving sales initiatives and holding the team accountable to sales goals.
  • Monitor performance on ticket upgrades, passes, party sales, food and beverage, and other add-on opportunities.
  • Coach managers and team members on proactive upselling and guest engagement.
  • Review sales results with management and help identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with developing and implementing sales incentives and team goals.
Team Development
  • Help train and develop team members and managers.
  • Reinforce company policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Provide coaching and constructive feedback when performance does not meet expectations.
  • Recognize strong performance and help create a positive team environment.
  • Lead by example in attendance, professionalism, communication, guest service, and work ethic.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal Senior Assistant Manager is organized, dependable, proactive, and highly accountable. This person should not wait to be told what needs to be done. They should be able to look at the operation, recognize what needs attention, and take action.
This position requires someone who can:
  • Think like a manager and act like an owner.
  • Work independently while keeping the GM informed.
  • Manage multiple priorities without losing track of details.
  • Follow through on assignments from start to finish.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Hold others accountable while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Handle confidential management matters appropriately.
  • Recognize problems and bring potential solutions to leadership.
  • Support the GM without needing constant direction.
  • Step up when the park needs additional leadership.
Overall Expectations
The Senior Assistant Manager is expected to be an extension of the General Manager's leadership. While the GM remains ultimately responsible for the park, the Senior Assistant Manager should help make the GM's job easier by taking ownership of assigned responsibilities, keeping the management team on track, following up on priorities, and ensuring expectations are being executed consistently.
The goal is not simply to assist with daily operations-it is to actively help lead the park, develop the management team, solve problems, and support the GM in achieving the overall goals of Slick City Action Park Katy.
