Job description

Medieval Times is looking for PERFORMERS (Squires) for our live action dinner show. Squires assist all of His Majesty's Brave Knights. Successful training and performance as a Squire is a prerequisite for advancement into the role of Knight!
WHAT DOES A SQUIRE DO?
The Squire contributes to the overall show quality by consistently maintaining a standard of excellence in assisting Knights before, during and after performances.
  • Provides quality performances by learning stunt choreography and assisting Knights in performance of stunts as needed.
  • Learns basics of weapons used in choreographed stunts and assists in maintaining quality and safety of weapons and props.
  • Assists with maintenance of horses and stables.
  • Maintains excellent physical fitness.
  • Assists with special functions, shows, groups, demonstrations and/or individual guests as required.
  • Trains to become a Knight, and may ultimately advance to a Knight position if qualified.
HOW DO I QUALIFY TO BE A SQUIRE?
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to successfully pass a physical abilities test
  • Must be able to work with and around horses
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and run in sand for extended periods
  • Must be able to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work within a team environment in a fast paced live show format.
Please note: To preserve the authenticity and genuineness of the scripted role of Knights in the Medieval Times theatrical production, Knights positions are reserved for male performers. Because Knights positions are filled exclusively from the ranks of Squires who have trained at Medieval Times to become Knights, the role of Squire is likewise reserved for male performers who are evaluated at the time of hire as demonstrating the potential for advancement to a Knight position.
