Job requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required. The teacher should have either a valid Teacher Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s), or other appropriate credentials if the teaching experience is from the private school sector. Teachers will plan, organize and implementan appropriate instructionalprogram in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic and spiritual potential.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitateactive learning experiences.
  • Develop schemes of work and lessons plans;
  • Establish and communicate clearobjectivesfor all learning activities;
  • Prepare a safe classroom environment for class activities and instruction;
  • Provide and expose students to a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities;
  • Identifyand select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs;
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction;
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance and development;
  • Maintain disciplinein accordance withthe rules and disciplinary systems of the school;
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, and assessmentsin a timely manner;
  • Keep up-to-date records of grades, lesson plans, and assignments;
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to administration, colleagues, students and parentsregardingstudent progress and student needs;
  • Keepup-to-datewith developments in subject areas, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities;
  • Work together with grade level teams to plan student learning and progress;
  • Participate in professional development classes to stay abreast of teaching strategies and methods;
  • Live out faith in a way thatfacilitatesdiscipleship, mentoring, and relationship building with students; and
  • All other duties as assigned by the BCS administration.
