Job description

Contract Developer - POS & Inventory (.NET 8)
60 day Short-term contract • Wichita, KS • Onsite
We run 87 fitness clubs across 14 states, and we build our own software. We're rebuilding our point of sale and inventory system, and we're looking for a contractor to help develop it.
The Work
Touch-first browser POS for club front desks and cafés - item lookup, split tender, charge-to-member-account, receipt printers, scanners, cash drawers, EMV terminals, shift close and drawer reconciliation.
Behind it, a real multi-location inventory system: purchase orders, receiving, inter-club transfers, cycle counts, reorder points, and shrink tracking.
Stack
C# / .NET 8 MVC, SQL Server, REST APIs, responsive front end, Git, IIS on-prem.
You Should Have
• Production ASP.NET Core experience and strong T-SQL.
• A track record building transactional business software - POS, checkout, order management, ERP, warehouse. Something where money and stock counts have to come out right.
• Comfort working against an existing schema you don't get to redesign, and from written specifications.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development. We work this way and expect you to keep pace.
Big Plus
• Card-present payment integration (EMV / P2PE).
• ESC/POS or OPOS peripheral work.
• Multi-location inventory - transfers, in-transit, per-site costing.
• Offline-tolerant application design.
Needed
Retail transaction software skils
