Job Summary:
Suncap Technology is seeking a Senior SQL Programmer to work closely with the VP of Information Systems and other technical staff. The role involves developing and supporting relational database solutions, ensuring database performance and integrity, and managing data analytics initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, interpret, and support relational database solutions in a Microsoft SQL Server environment that address critical business functions or needs for the Organization.
• Analyze and implement database technology infrastructure solutions with minimal direction required and demonstrate the technical curiosity to quickly fix and resolve technical issues.
• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
• Ensure internal quality control of data imported and ongoing analysis of data integrity for enterprise Datawarehouse.
• Creates and maintains documentation of the data warehousing system.
• Report Development Experience with PowerBI.
• Experience in designing and developing ETL data pipelines leveraging SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, or similar integration technology.
• Enhance and maintain enterprise SQL reporting environment.
• Control and limit server, database, and data pipeline access in compliance with data security policies and best practices.
• Adhere to and improve 'best practices documentation.
• Perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing, and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance.
• Design the schemes, permissions, and tables for databases as appropriate for their use.
• Install, configure, and upgrade servers to suit the database project needs.
• Design automated systems to mine information for data analytics.
• Assists the VP of Information Systems in guaranteeing that the organization will not lose any data, and that data is always recoverable and available.
• Develop and test data fixes to Production data to support functional and reporting requirements as needed.
• Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development and reporting needs.
• Deploy enterprise security policies to protect databases from unauthorized usage, and maintain database security and hardening (TDE, encryption in transit, etc.).
• Build and support database replication using mirroring, clustering, log shipping, and AlwaysOn.
• Experience developing restful API's for data services is preferred.
• Must be available and on call to support business needs in the event of a catastrophe or storm.
• Managing OLTP systems with high uptime.
• Manage and monitor disk space, database space, CPU, memory and cache, and user connections.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in IT or a similar field.
• 8+ years SQL Server administration supporting multiple production environments.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in writing complex ETL packages.
• Data Warehouse development or administration experience.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle.
• Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
• Familiarity with large IT budgeted projects, data center migration efforts, and designing disaster recovery procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
• Demonstrated experience in development of long-term database strategies for the enterprise environment to stay current with technology and provide the required functionality to the organization and as well as adherence to Change Control procedures and policies.
Preferred:
• Experience developing restful API's for data services
