Job description

In this professional position of Software Developer, beneficiary works on the TransifyDigital project, and the work location will be at 71 Peyton Parkway, Suite 103, Collierville, TN 38017. TransifyDigital project of MI Softech, Inc. is our wholly-owned, second largest software-as-as-service software that aims at digitally transforming small retail businesses in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama. Our mission is to provide a retail-as-a-service platform that helps small retail businesses adopt a digital strategy and evolve through data and latest technologies. Our platform offers simplified access to gain business insights and KPIs about inventory, customer, supplier, stock and other retail management processes. We are currently rolling out to the initial pilot customers and add additional functionality and integrations later this year.


Skills & Requirements:

In this position, beneficiary will be responsible for only qualifying duties, those duties that require a bachelor's degree in above stated fields. Below are the required skills and complete job duties associated with the proposed position:


1. Carry out day-to-day agile activities for project life cycle

  • Experience working in smaller agile teams with Scrum / Kanban methodologies.
  • Conduct evaluation and technical oversight of the overall project to ensure system integrity as per retail business processes.
  • Write detailed functional specifications, user stories for product and feature enhancements.
  • Attend product owner meetings to understand functional requirements as per the business.
  • Take part in Planning Poker Sessions to create initial estimates useful in scoping or sizing the project milestones.
  • Involve in Agile sessions, Scrum Meetings, Retrospective Meetings for each sprint.


2. Responsible for all facets of overall system improvement consisting of system design, implementation, and support for the retail platform.

  • Primary responsibilities include designing, coding, and testing core product functionalities in compliance with design requirements provided by the UX team.
  • Gathers requirements from pilot customers by combining user research with knowledge of existing systems.
  • Ability to rapidly develop prototypes of functional models, gather customer feedback modify and streamline it into the production code base.
  • Develop user interface using client-side stacks such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
  • Comfortable in building backend APIs in J2EE, Spring, and Hibernate.
  • Develop custom integration APIs/scripts to provide secure data transfer solutions for the data feed.


3. Creates, executes, maintains, and validates interfaces that transfer data across multiple data management systems or operating systems and consulting with vendor engineers to carryout Integrations with subsystems.

  • Work with numerous third-party vendors on escalated issues that require assistance with integration with new customers.
  • Assist in onboarding new retail stores support for installation and configuration of our platform for newly on-boarded retail stores ensures all components work well.
  • Serve as primary on-call support person as part of a rotation where on-call escalator will cover regular business hours, nights and weekends on a scheduled basis.


4. Analyze/Import/export data from/to centralized database systems (RDBMS) within database systems as per requirements using SQL programming and modeling requirements.

  • Logging queries and analyze slow pages and optimize queries accordingly
  • Utilize extensive SQL queries for data analysis, to provide summary reports and data feeds for customers and management.


5. Creates test data and evaluates test results.

  • Develop detailed test plans, cases, and automated scripts by understanding the business logic and user requirements.
  • Leverage Behaviour-Driven / Test Development skills for producing high-quality code while doing unit testing using frameworks such as Jasmine, Mocha /JUnit / Mockito.
  • Ensure maximum code and unit coverage for the entire application and occasionally generate seed data and refactor test suites.
  • Integrating unit testing with build pipeline tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
  • Collaborate with other coworkers to test code before going to production, produce test suites and prepare scenarios for automated testing.


6. Collaborate with the Core Product team to write code, support, maintain and debug the subsystems.

  • Participate in regular interactions with POS software partners to interface EDI communication requirements and mapping of data to enterprise APIs.
  • Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting and proposing solutions to solve issues with integration to the existing systems within the retail stores.
  • Experience with applying different design patterns and Service Oriented Architecture.
  • Familiarity with Event Driven Architectures for internal business functions of the system
  • Develop batch-processing jobs for data gathering and processing capabilities needs.


7. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all activities.

  • Assist in the development of user stories, peer programming, code check in/check out.
  • Create pull requests and resolving merge conflicts.
  • Carry out deployments to stage, production environments and bringing it to live.
  • Assist in updating forms and guidelines set forth by the standard operating procedures across the organization.


8. Produce ad-hoc reports on the retail platform performance.

  • Compile day-to-day sales and profit data into reports for customers for demand analysis, inventory availability, pricing and serving cost forTransifyDigitalapplication.
  • Experience in SSRS/ Crystal reports for developing reports.
  • Design and develop customer-friendly dashboards for ad-hoc reporting for business analysts and customers through data that do not need an understanding of data analysis.
  • Establish different business metrics, Key Process Indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement and provide logical interfaces for customers within the platform.
  • Provide T-SQL scripts for generating data sets for reporting
  • Involve in migrating data from CSV datasets to Staging Tables for Data Mapping.
  • Implement cascaded parameters to analyzing a report from multiple different Data Sets in SSRS.


9.Performs technical work writing and maintain programs and related documentation.

  • Use configuration management tools such as Github, Gitlab for source code management.
  • Translate proposed solutions into technical specifications and architecture designs diagrams.
  • Knowledge in using API document tools such as Swagger, SOAP UI, and RAML.
  • Use Microsoft office tools for maintaining business process documentation.
