The SQL Developer Under the direction of the Manager, Enterprise Integration Services, the SQL Developer is responsible for SQL development and ETL/data integration support related to Merchants' Microsoft SQL Server databases and Merchants Insight Business Intelligence platform, along with development support of an internal SharePoint application written in C#. We offer a hybrid work schedule, requiring two full days per week in the office, with flexibility to work remotely or in office the remaining days. This model supports collaboration while providing flexibility and work-life balance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supports the development and maintenance of SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects in MS SQL Server under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Supports and maintains an internal SharePoint application written in C#, including bug fixes, enhancements, and ongoing development tasks.
  • Develops and maintains ETL processes to support data integration and Business Intelligence solutions; the Microsoft ETL stack (SSIS/SSAS) is preferred, but exposure to other ETL platforms is acceptable.
  • Works to meet timelines for assigned deliverables and completes work within expected timelines. Immediately brings identified roadblocks and/or obstacles that would result in missing a deliverable due date, to management's attention for a resolution.
  • Unit and System test all changes to ensure solutions operate according to specification.
  • Provides after-hours of technical support as needed and adheres to change management process.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science required.
  • 2-3 years' experience in SQL development required along with hands on experience with ETL Platform.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with C# is required to support and maintain an internal SharePoint application.
  • Experience with insurance or financial institution automation systems is a plus.
  • Solid working knowledge of SQL/T-SQL development.
  • Experience with C# for application development and ongoing support of an internal SharePoint application.
  • Experience with an ETL platform; the Microsoft ETL stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS/Power BI) is preferred, but exposure to other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend) is acceptable.
  • Familiarity with the IT Systems Development Lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with business partners, stakeholders, developers, and DBAs.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and provide appropriate technical resolution in a timely manner.

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $60,000 - $80,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. This range is merely an estimate; actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience and qualifications.
