Job description

Interview Process: Interviews will take place in person on site at the Blythewood Headquarters at 10311 BLYTHEWOOD RD BLYTHEWOOD, SC 29016. Scheduling as soon as possible after the posting closes.

Our direct client is seeking an experienced DBA 7901 for a 12-month contract, located in Columbia, SC.

PRIMARY WORK LOCATION:

10311 BLYTHEWOOD RD

BLYTHEWOOD, SC 29016 SECONDARY WORK LOCATION:

NA.

The DBA will be responsible for using data modeling tools on ORACLE and MS SQL databases:

• Current state assessment report of existing ERwin models.

• New or updated logical and physical data models in ERwin format (.erwin files).

• Data dictionaries and model documentation.

• Version-controlled repository of data models.

• Identify data integrity and consistency issues.

• Identify and aid with duplicate data resolution.

• Provide reporting and recommendations to address these issues.

• Weekly progress reports.

• Final summary report at project closeout.

This position will also supplement our current sql dba force with production support activities such as adhoc daily tickets, version updates, security updates, etc. and may require working beyond normal business hours.

Candidate will be working in a team environment consisting of 6 database engineers and administrators and working directly with application architect, application developers, business analysts, and server support team.

Nationwide and Candidate must relocate to SC Prior to Starting role.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and update data models and documentation using ERWIN

• Performing reverse and forward engineering of database structures.

• Providing best practices for data modeling, metadata management, and documentation.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining logical and physical data models using ERwin Data Modeler.

• Ensuring database designs support scalability, integrity, and performance requirements.

• Identify data integrity and consistency issues. Provide reporting and recommendations to address the issues.

• Identify and aid with duplicate data resolution.

• Collaborating with data architects, DBAs, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into data models.

• Managing version control of data models and maintaining model repositories.

• Supporting data governance and compliance initiatives through effective data modeling strategies.

Same modeling activities may be required for MS SQL databases.

ORACLE and MS SQL production support activities as needed and directed by the DBA manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

• 3 YEARS PROFESSIONAL DATA MODELING EXPERIENCE. Ie. ERWIN Data

• ORACLE 19 DBA and/or SQL SERVER 2019, 2022 PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

• SQL SERVER DBA CERTIFICATION

• DD BOOST TO SUPPORT BACKUP AND RESTORE OPERATIONS FOR ORACLE DATABASE

• ORACLE GRID CONTROL

• ORACLE ASM

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:
