As a sprinkler installer, your responsibilities are to inspect, install, test, and repair a sprinkler system. There are two types of sprinkler installer jobs. One position works with fire sprinklers, which may deliver water or chemicals to help extinguish fires as quickly as possible. Your duties in this job involve measuring and cutting piping, installing valves and control systems, interpreting work specifications and fire codes, and testing systems for leaks. The other type of sprinkler installer works with lawn sprinkler systems, which are used to keep grass and plants watered. Your responsibilities in this position involve digging, planning, selecting equipment, as well as installing and repairing systems. Lawn sprinkler installers are also known as irrigation service technicians.
