Job description

A growing designer of Fire Protection Systems located in Cheltenham, PA is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to join their team. Job Responsibilities: Uses CAD equipment to provide support to Engineering department by preparing routine layouts of fire sprinkler systems, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for installation. Make copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database. Makes simple decisions but refers most questions / problems to lead designers or chief engineer. Job Requirements: Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with design and fire sprinkler terminology. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. Ability to perform onsite field surveys and measurements of existing installations. Must have ability to read and interpret drawings / blueprints as well as prior experience using AutoCAD. At least 4 years of experience with the design and layout of Sprinkler systems. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. HydraCAD or SprinkCAD is a plus. Ability to perform Hydraulic Calculations. Knowledge of NFPA Codes.
