Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer & Project Manager to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for designing code-compliant fire sprinkler systems and managing projects from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating with clients, contractors, and internal teams.


Design Duties:

  • Create detailed fire sprinkler system designs using AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or similar software.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Prepare submittals, fabrication lists, and installation drawings.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and general contractors during the design process.
  • Stay current with code changes and emerging technologies in fire protection.


Project Management Duties:

  • Manage all phases of fire sprinkler projects from bid through close-out.
  • Coordinate scheduling, materials procurement, and labor resources.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership team, project managers, and foremen regularly, providing frequent updates.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and profitability.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders, providing updates and resolving issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and company protocols on job sites.


Requirements

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and/or project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or other fire protection design software.
  • Experience with BIM coordination or Revit MEP.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes (especially NFPA 13, 14, and 25) and local regulations.
  • NICET Certification (Level II or higher preferred) in Water-Based Systems Layout.
  • Excellent project coordination, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
