Job description

This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Pharmacy Technician ready to take on a vital field role supporting multiple healthcare facilities across Southern Illinois. Based near Springfield, IL, you will travel within an assigned territory, acting as the essential link between the pharmacy and various facilities. Your expertise will help ensure medication therapy effectiveness, compliance, and exceptional service delivery for patients and facility staff.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with facility leadership and staff, serving as the primary liaison between pharmacy services and client sites.
  • Understand client needs, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly while collaborating on medication therapy and compliance.
  • Provide training and educational support to facility staff on pharmacy systems and medication management as requested.
  • Conduct monthly onsite visits, reporting progress and identifying opportunities for service expansion.
  • Perform medication cart and room inspections, medication pass observations, and assist with survey preparation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with internal pharmacy teams to deliver smooth and compliant services.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license required.
  • PTCB certification highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care setting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy and medication distribution software such as EMAR, Medbank, and Frameworks.
  • Reliable transportation is a must for travel between facility locations; overnight stays may be necessary.
Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, primarily 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Occasional flexibility required for audits or late-day visits.
