Job Description

This person will perform electrical and mechanical repairs on production and facility related equipment at the Springfield, MN facility. When needed this person will be tasked to design and implement new or upgraded equipment controls.  This person will report to the Maintenance Manager

Pay Range: $25-35/hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on equipment and facilities.
  • Promote safe work practices by following company safety policies.
  • Assist in building controls for new equipment, as well as adding or upgrading controls on existing equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and promote company 5S policies.
  • Identify root causes of maintenance downtime and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
  • Order repair parts for maintenance repairs to equipment and facilities.
  • Identify critical parts and make recommendations on additional spare parts inventory.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.  The ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas;

  • Must have 5+ years experience as an industrial maintenance electrician with advanced machine controls and design experience as well as power distribution systems.  
  • Ability to troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Advanced training & knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC platform, as well as human machine interfaces (HMI).
  • Must have a working knowledge of National Electric Code
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, electronic, etc…
  • Must be self-motivated and proven strong leadership skills.
  • Able to identify problems and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment downtime.
  • Must have excellent decision-making and team motivational skills.
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, adversity, and changes.
  • Must be willing to have a flexible work schedule that supports production and process improvements

  • Ability to meet attendance standards.  All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week.  At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines. 
  • Highly motivated, well-organized.
  • Maintain high personal standards of quality.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as effectively communicating with management and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them.
  • Excellent problem solving and team motivational skills are a must.
  • Must be flexibility and adapt to changes in the work environment as well as managing competing demands. May require flexible hours when necessary to reach company goals.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with a large variety of individuals, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management and outside contractors
