What is spray insulation?

Spray insulation is a type of building insulation that is applied as a liquid and then expands into a foam, filling gaps, cracks, and hard-to-reach areas to create a thermal barrier. It is commonly used in walls, attics, roofs, and floors to improve energy efficiency, reduce noise, and enhance comfort in homes and commercial buildings. Spray insulation comes in two main types: open-cell and closed-cell, each offering different benefits in terms of insulation value and moisture resistance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Spray Insulation Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Spray Insulation Technician, you need knowledge of insulation materials, safe handling procedures, and basic construction skills, often acquired through on-the-job training or vocational courses. Familiarity with spray foam application equipment, protective gear, and adherence to safety regulations like OSHA standards is essential.
