Salary Range: $110- $150k


Security Requirements

Must be a US citizen or a legal resident for three of the past five years. Public Trust cannot be granted without meeting the residency requirement.
Must meet eligibility requirements for a US Public Trust security clearance (moderate risk), including a soft credit check and criminal background check. Please refer to the criteria listed in 5 CFR 731.202 to understand the Public Trust suitability requirements.

Job Summary

This position will provide experienced cost analysis and estimating support for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.

Years of Relevant Experience


The position requires 7-15+ years of data analysis support of government acquisition and knowledge of requirements to collect, store, organize, and assess data related to acquisition programs. DHS experience is desirable, but not required.


Essential Job Functions

The Senior Data Analyst shall apply extensive knowledge and experience to obtain, integrate, and report client data and develop and apply analytic methodologies and principles The individual’s activities include but are not limited to:


  • Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Plan and leads major technology assignments.
  • Identify business trends and problems through complex data analysis.
  • Interpret results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple. data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently.
  • Design, develop, and implement valuable business solutions for the organization.
  • Prepare data, implement data models and develop databases to support business solutions.
  • Analyze and evaluate network operations efficiencies and security effectiveness, and recommends design changes to improve services to users.
  • Assist with database architecture plans and development.
  • Lead the application of analytic techniques and help define project objectives and strategic direction.
  • Analyze acquisition data, formulate conclusions and recommendations, design and develop materials, and evaluate effectiveness in accordance with stated guidelines, speculations, and models.
  • Conduct research, data gathering, and technical reviews; produce written deliverables to include reports, spreadsheets, databases, formal process mapping, technical design, system testing and implementation activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues in reports related to data; assimilate, integrate, and interface technical knowledge with business/system requirements.
  • Utilizes scripting and querying tools like Python, R or SQL, data visualization/BI tools, statistical methods, and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards. Tableau experience is required.



Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields required. Graduate and Post Graduate degrees are a plus and may substitute for years of experience.


Skills Requirements


  • Demonstrated capability to work both independently and under the direction of experienced analysts.
  • Demonstrated skill in defining, developing, and maintaining databases and working with spreadsheets and complex data models.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic work environment and ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments.
  • Possession of a government or industry standard data science certification is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated skill in creating and maintaining databases and working with spreadsheets and complex models.
