Job description

Sports Specialist (Women's Lacrosse)

Position: Sports Specialist (Women's Lacrosse) Salary: $22.01/hour

Location: New London, CT

USCG Academy Athletic Activity Fund

DUTIES:

Assisting the Head Women's Head Lacrosse Coach with all aspects of coaching and administration the NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse program at the US Coast Guard Academy.

Recruiting athletically and academically qualified students. Organizing, scheduling, and conducting practices and competitions.

Management of home women's lacrosse competitions. Ensuring program compliance with all colleges, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Performing any other duties and responsibilities related to the coaching position as needed or directed by the Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse.

Teaching different skills associated with the program, working to maintain statistics, and breaking down film.

Performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Expected hours for the year are approximately 500 hours total, with several weeks coaching in Fall and most coaching occurring during spring semester.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

  1. Collegiate women's lacrosse experience
  2. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  3. Bachelor's degree

Preferred (in addition to the minimum):

  1. Collegiate, High School or Lacrosse Club coaching experience
  2. Demonstrated experience in recruiting athletically talented, academically qualified and diverse student athletes to an academically rigorous institution.
