ย Job Summary

Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the daily business operations of retail / rental locations. Assist in supervising, mentoring and training a staff of 5-14 employees on providing exceptional service to our guests. Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager on the day-to-day functions of all store operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Act as Manager-on-duty in the absences of a Store Manager

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintains Standard Operating Procedures for managed location

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Creative a positive team environment

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Proficient in POS operations including opening/closing procedures and reporting.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support and lead daily operations, monitoring performance and budget including scheduling and payroll

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain administrative responsibilities including training, staffing, budgeting and reporting

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain daily store records for performance, sales metrics, inventory control and equipment rentals (if applicable)ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support in the training of employees in POS system operation, product knowledge, guest service, sales techniques and loss prevention policies and proceduresย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide excellent customer service, answer customer complaints or inquiries

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Monitor team performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or correction action if necessaryย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain store visual merchandising standards and conditions

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain up-to-date product knowledge for staff

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support in management of retail / rental inventory to prevent shrink

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support in preparation of store retail and rental inventories

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Address staff needs and complaints

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support and participate with leadership forums providing feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Willingness to support other departments in the Retail / Rental division.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Know and enforce safety initiatives consistent with company guidelines.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned, including specialty areas like merchandising and rentals

Shoulder Season Essential Duties and Responsibilities:ย ย

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support other Telluride Sports rental shops in their seasonal transitions

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support other departments in the Retail / Rental divisionย 

Supervisory Responsibilities:ย  ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include supervising, mentoring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing staff complaints and resolving problems.ย  Assists and communicates weekly staff schedules.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.ย  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Retail Point of Sale Systems, proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, internet search engines, basic accounting, and Adobe.
