Television Broadcasting & Computing Foundations Teacher

Position Summary

Carroll High School seeks a dynamic educator to teach Television Broadcasting and Computing Foundations courses. This position prepares students for postsecondary education and careers in broadcasting, multimedia production, digital media, and technology through hands-on, project-based learning experiences.

The successful candidate will teach industry-relevant skills including scriptwriting, video production, live broadcasting, multimedia storytelling, and digital content creation while fostering creativity, communication, and career readiness. This position also provides the opportunity to lead the Charger Sports Network, overseeing student-produced broadcasts of athletic events and school activities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Teach Television Broadcasting and Computing Foundations courses aligned with state standards and industry expectations.
  • Provide instruction in scriptwriting, video production, live broadcasting, audio production, editing, and multimedia communications.
  • Develop and maintain engaging, project-based learning experiences that prepare students for college and career opportunities.
  • Lead and grow the Charger Sports Network, mentoring students in live event production, announcing, directing, camera operation, and digital media coverage.
  • Maintain broadcasting equipment, studio resources, and production facilities.
  • Build partnerships with local media organizations and industry professionals to enhance student learning opportunities.
  • Assess student learning, communicate progress, and maintain an effective classroom environment.
  • Sponsor student activities and organizations related to broadcasting and media.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Indiana teaching license or ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
  • Experience in broadcasting, multimedia production, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard production and editing software.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
