Job description

Carolina Core FC is seeking a driven, creative, and detail-oriented Merchandise Intern to join our team. This is a hands-on opportunity to experience the full scope of merchandising within professional sports- from product creation to match day retail- while seeing how merchandise serves as a powerful driver of community, connection, and culture.
This role is designed for someone who wants more than just an internship. It's an opportunity to gain well-rounded, real-world experience across all levels of the merchandise business, working alongside a team that is building something meaningful both on and off the pitch.
This internship is unpaid and offered for class credit.
What You'll Do

  • Assist in inventory management and allocation across retail channels, including stadium, activations, and e-commerce
  • Support product development, from early concepts and inspiration to final execution and launch
  • Research trends and contribute to seasonal planning and merchandising strategy
  • Help coordinate and execute matchday retail, pop-up shops, and fan-facing activations
  • Assist with store merchandising, displays, and visual presentation across all retail environments
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on product storytelling and promotional campaigns
  • Support Shopify and e-commerce operations, helping ensure a seamless online shopping experience
  • Provide customer-facing support on matchdays and at activations, helping create a memorable fan experience
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations of the Merchandise and Retail team, gaining exposure to both strategy and execution
What We're Looking For
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Interest in apparel, design, retail, or sports merchandising
  • Self-starter with a creative mindset and positive, team-first attitude
  • Ability to work matchdays, nights, and weekends as needed
  • Familiarity with Shopify, Canva, or Excel is a plus
  • Alignment with our CORE values: Collaborative, Community Driven, Development, Accountability, and Bold Ambition
We're looking for individuals who hold themselves to a high standard, are eager to learn, and want to fully invest in an experience that will help them grow and succeed in this space.
Why Join Us
  • Gain hands-on experience across the full merchandise lifecycle in professional sports
  • Be part of building a brand where merchandise plays a key role in fan connection and community identity
  • Work in a collaborative environment with exposure to both creative and operational aspects of the business
  • Contribute to projects that come to life in the real world- from the pitch to the store to the fans
