ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an ambitious, growth-driven Sports Manager to power local player expansion, maximize league revenue, and deliver unforgettable, top-tier sports experiences. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will combine high-level operational execution with commercial strategy. You will lead revenue-generating player retention initiatives, build seamless league schedules, expand local player bases, and ensure every game night feels like a premier event.
Volo is looking for someone who can:
Revenue & Player Growth
  • Drive top-line revenue by setting and exceeding seasonal player acquisition, upsell, and retention targets.
  • Execute proactive player lifecycle marketing, re-engagement campaigns, and cross-league promotion to maximize player lifetime value.
  • Identify and launch new sport offerings, formats, and tournament experiences to capture untapped local market share.
  • Build strategic relationships with local venue partners, community hubs, and sponsor bars to drive organic player referral channels.

Player Experience & Community
  • Transform daily play into memorable sports experiences by cultivating energetic, welcoming, and vibrant game-day environments.
  • Set and maintain product quality standards across all leagues, tournaments, and social events through active site visits and hands-on leadership.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate on-field Gamemasters and staff to act as high-energy brand ambassadors who deliver exceptional service.
  • Serve as the primary advocate for player satisfaction, converting player feedback into product enhancements and high-retention community bonds.

Operations & Logistics Execution
  • Oversee the end-to-end seasonal league build process, master schedule creation, and venue merge plans in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Direct logistics for sports equipment, apparel management, and venue inventory across all local operating sites.
  • Manage facility permitting process for current venues and evaluate new locations for operational and financial viability.
  • Own real-time problem resolution, weather calls, and schedule adjustments with proactive player communication.

Your expected skill set & experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
  • Must have transportation to help deliver equipment
  • Must be able to lift 30+ pounds
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Can coordinate organizational tools and resources effectively and comfortably
  • Can navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active sporting environment
