Housekeeping Post Event Manager
Department: Housekeeping
Direct Supervisor: Director, Housekeeping
Status: Full-time
Summary:
The Housekeeping Post Event Manager is responsible for overseeing all administrative and operational functions of the overnight housekeeping team to ensure the facility is clean, safe, and event-ready before and after each event. This position is responsible for managing the nightly core team and post-event staff to support the operational needs of all events hosted at the facility. The Housekeeping Post Event Manager leads, motivates, and supports team members and vendors to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the organization's standards for quality and service.
Responsibilities:
  • Schedule appropriate staffing levels for post-event staff, nightly core staff, concession cleaning crews, temporary staff, waste removal crews, and restroom attendants.
  • Manage post-event budgets, including the allocation of labor, supplies, and other operating expenses.
  • Oversee uniform preparation and distribution for the nightly core staff.
  • Ensure staff receive proper training on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Manage projects related to nightly cleaning operations and the upkeep of premium spaces.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering and Operations departments to address facility maintenance and operational improvement needs.
  • Oversee waste removal operations, including logistics for disposal and recycling.
  • Manage the cleaning and upkeep of elevators, escalators, glass surfaces, stairwells, and facility entrances.
  • Communicate effectively with event managers, night managers, and overnight crews to coordinate work assignments and operational priorities.
  • Communicate and enforce productivity, safety, and quality standards.
  • Conduct facility walk-through inspections, monitor cleanliness metrics, and ensure established cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Oversee Human Resources-related responsibilities for the Nightly Core and Post-Event staff, including hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and payroll.
  • Maintain department records, including sign-in/sign-out sheets, equipment assignments, labor reports, inspection reports, TeamWork schedules, and safety documentation.
  • Manage the check-in process for post-event staff and prepare deployment and assignment schedules.
  • Conduct meetings with team leaders and staff to communicate departmental updates, organizational initiatives, and operational expectations.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown activities, including pre-event and post-event cleaning and other event-specific preparations.
  • Support the Director of Housekeeping with nightly operations, vendor oversight, and crew management.
  • Manage the division to meet operational needs while maintaining budget expectations, coordinating planning efforts, providing training, and preparing reports.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of housekeeping or facilities management experience, preferably within sports, entertainment, hospitality, convention centers, or other large public venues.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising large teams of 50-200+ employees, including full-time, part-time, and temporary staff.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and industry best practices.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic administrative systems.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and event days.
  • Experience working in professional sports, entertainment venues, convention centers, luxury hospitality, or large-scale facilities.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly Spanish and/or Haitian Creole.
  • Experience managing contracted vendors and large-scale event operations.
