Job description

Description WORK SCHEDULE: Up to 40 hours a week. Flexible schedule/Both Weekday Evenings & Weekend hours Representative Job Duties Drive Zamboni to resurface Ice. Experience preferred but will train.

Preform ice maintenance using Zamboni, edger, and other tools as required. Preform basic Zamboni maintenance to include but not limited to checking tire air pressure, changing the blade, and checking fluid levels. Basic knowledge of Ice Arena operations and programming preferred but will train.

Responsible for the safe operation of the Sports Arena in the absence of the Facility Supervisor. Supervise 1-5 other part time employees during your shift. Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the facility at all times.

Answer customer questions and provide assistance and information in a professional manner. Positively promote the service philosophy of the City of Southfield Parks & Recreation Department. Handle complaints politely; refer to Facility Supervisor.

Handle and count cash accurately; operate a Point of Sale; handle credit card transactions. Keep accurate and easily accessible records of all work to ensure organizational continuity. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Job Requirements - As Determined By the City Of Southfield Minimum of 18 years of age with a certain level of maturity to handle this high-profile position. Valid Michigan Drivers Licenses. Excellent organization along with verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to use logical and rational thinking to solve problems. Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals and percentages. Ability to provide effective written and verbal instructions, as well as carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions independently.

Some managerial or leadership experience preferred. Be a keyholder to the facility. Supplemental Information Applicants will be invited to further participate in the selection process once a driving record and criminal history background check has been cleared.
