Summary
The Sports Director is in charge of all sports programming that airs on WXAV 88.3FM. The Sports Director oversees the WXAV sports schedule, arranges the producer schedule for WXAV and area high school sports broadcasts, and ensures that all broadcasts begin when they are advertised to begin.
This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Sports Director ensures the on-air and internal promotion of all relevant SXU sports games and makes sure that there are always enough people to broadcast the games in accordance with WXAV's Sports Broadcasting Policy. The Sports Director is also in charge of all pre and post-game programming. The Sports Director works with the athletics department to have up to date roster information, and interviews with coaches and players for broadcast. The Sports Director is in charge of the official sports talk show on WXAV. Along with the other members of management, the sports director evaluates various student broadcasts, to ensure that FCC rules and regulations are met, and to offer feedback on the deejay's program. The Sports Director also assists in planning, and promoting of promotional events. Finally, the Sports Director is a member of the Sports Committee.

MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
Background in Communication preferred.
