Job Summary/Description:

Do you love news and sports and can't choose? KWQC is looking for a journalist who can support both the news and sports departments. You may find yourself covering breaking news...or telling a high-impact story on a local athlete.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

- Shoot, write, and edit your own stories
- Contribute packaged story elements to both the news and sports departments
- Pitch story ideas daily
- Work with the digital team to come up with creative ways to get your stories out there
- Come up with new, creative ideas where we can grow streaming when it comes to news and sports
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Apply feedback from the management team

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Ideal candidate can cover a mix of breaking news and feature stories.
- Experience with AP style for web and broadcast writing.
- Great communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to carry gear and have experience in shooting/editing content.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Records check required.
