Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Sports Club Student Assistant on the Dahlonega Campus. The Sports Club Student Assistant reports directly to the Coordinator of Sports Clubs and Teams. Sports Club Student Assistants must be knowledgeable of sports rules and regulations, as well as knowledgeable in Sports Club Policies and Procedures. Must posses good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a sports background is preferred. Uniforms are required. Sports Club Student Assistants must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and this position is subject to semester GPA and conduct checks. Campus Recreation and Wellness is committed to supporting the academic and personal success of students and will refer students to support resources as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Attend Sports Club games and special events to provide onsite support and supervision.
  • Collect visiting team participation waivers and verify rosters.
  • Assist the Coordinator of Sports Clubs with administrative duties, including documentation, communication, scheduling, and handbook compliance.
  • Collaborate with Intramural Sports and Campus Recreation & Wellness (CRW) staff to support shared facilities, events, and operational needs.
  • Assist with any additional duties assigned by the Coordinator of Sports Clubs to ensure smooth operation of the Sports Club program.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of record-keeping practices, including score reporting and attendance tracking.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and administrative skills, including attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks during busy event periods.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Coordinator, Intramural Sports, and CRW staff.
  • Ability to enforce policies professionally and maintain a safe environment for participants.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must remain in good standing with the University and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • The student must currently have or be able to obtain a CPR/First Aid certification within one month of employment. CRW offers certification opportunities.
