SPORTS BUSINESS OPERATIONS INTERNSHIPย 

Job Summaryย 

Soccer Stars is the leading youth soccer program for children ages 12 months to 13 years in Long Island and Eastern Queens. Our acclaimed program provides an energetic, enjoyable, and age-suitable introduction to the fantastic game of soccer by providing classes, camps, and clinics held in schools, community centers, and local parks. We take pride in our creative curriculum, which focuses not only on soccer skills but also on fostering social skills and character development, creating a positive and lasting impact on every child we coach.ย 

We are seeking a motivated Business Operations Intern to join our team from March - May. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a current students and recent grads to gain hands-on experience in sports business operations and make a direct impact on a thriving youth sports organization.ย 

As an intern, you will engage in market research, new business development, partnership management, marketing initiatives for our soccer classes across Long Island and Eastern Queens. This position provides valuable insights into the operations of a dynamic youth sports organization, ideal for individuals passionate about sports, business, and youth enrichment.ย 

This is an unpaid internship; however, students may seek college credit by coordinating directly with their professors or academic advisors. The Soccer Stars office is conveniently located at the Cherry Valley Sports Complex in West Hempstead.


Hours of Employmentย 

Minimum Requirement: 22 hours per weekย 

Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments but requires availability on Saturday or Sunday mornings between 8AM - 12PMย 


Responsibilities & Dutiesย 

  • New Business Development
    Support the development of partnerships and outreach programs to expand our business presenceย 
  • Assist in creating strategies to target new customers and broaden program offeringsย 

Partnership Management

  • Assist in managing relationships with preexisting partners alongside the President and Partnerships Coordinatorย 
  • Coordinate with partners to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify new collaboration opportunitiesย 

Marketing Initiatives

  • Collaborate on marketing campaigns to promote classes and eventsย 
  • Assist in managing social media accounts and creating engaging contentย 

Market Research

  • Identify trends and opportunities in the youth sports industryย 
  • Conduct research on competitors to gather insights into their programs, pricing, and strategiesย 

Miscellaneous Tasks

  • Assist with administrative and operational tasks to support day-to-day business functionsย

Strong interest in business, sports, youth development, and/or operationsย 

Self-starter with excellent research and analytical skillsย 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with partners, team members, coaches, and site staffย 

Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlinesย 

Team player who is willing to help wherever needed for the success of the businessย 

Proficient in Google Workspaceย 

Willingness to travel locally for site visits (must have own transportation)ย

Soccer experience is a plus but not requiredย
