THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is seeking a strategic, results-driven Marketing Director to lead the firm's full-scope marketing and business development function. This is a high-impact, senior-level role for a legal marketing professional who thrives in a sophisticated, boutique environment and understands the nuance of marketing complex litigation services to corporate decision-makers, general counsel, and C-suite executives.
The Marketing Director will be the firm's first dedicated marketing leadership hire, owning strategy and execution across digital presence, thought leadership, event strategy, client communications, and attorney business development support. This individual will collaborate closely with the firm's Co-Founding Partners and firm management to elevate the firm's brand nationally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Strategy & Positioning
• Define and execute the firm's overall marketing and brand strategy aligned with the firm's litigation-focused identity and growth objectives.
• Maintain and elevate brand consistency across all print, digital, and experiential touchpoints.
• Position the firm competitively in the Florida and national legal market, leveraging its boutique-yet-sophisticated differentiators.
Digital Marketing & Web Presence
• Oversee the firm's website including content strategy, SEO, UX improvements, and ongoing performance analysis.
• Manage social media presence across LinkedIn and other relevant platforms, developing content that reinforces the firm's thought leadership and case highlights.
• Develop and execute email marketing campaigns targeting clients, referral sources, and prospective clients.
• Track and report on digital KPIs, recommending data-driven improvements.
Thought Leadership & Content
• Partner with attorneys to develop client alerts, case studies, whitepapers, practice area content, and blog posts that showcase the firm's expertise.
• Pitch and coordinate attorney bylines, speaking opportunities, panel placements, and media interviews.
• Manage firm submissions for legal directory rankings (Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, U.S. News Best Law Firms, etc.).
Business Development Support
• Develop and maintain RFP/pitch materials, capability statements, and attorney bios tailored to specific practice areas and industries.
• Support attorneys in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cross-selling initiatives, and client retention strategies.
• Coordinate client feedback programs and relationship tracking with firm leadership.
Events & Sponsorships
• Plan, coordinate, and execute client events, CLEs, sponsorships, and firm recognition opportunities.
• Manage relationships with bar associations, industry groups, and civic organizations relevant to the firm's client base and practice areas.
• Oversee attorney conference attendance strategy to maximize ROI.
Marketing Operations
• Manage external vendors including PR agencies, graphic designers, web developers, and photographers.
• Develop and manage the marketing budget with accountability for spend and ROI.
• Build and maintain a marketing calendar that aligns with firm priorities and business cycles.
• Utilize CRM/contact management tools to support attorney relationship tracking and marketing outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Minimum 5-7 years of marketing experience preferably within an Am Law 200 firm, boutique litigation firm, or sophisticated professional services environment.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing marketing strategy for complex, high-value services targeting corporate and institutional clients.
• Deep expertise in legal directory submissions (Chambers, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers), pitch/RFP development, and attorney BD support.
• Proficiency in digital marketing, SEO, website CMS management, and social media strategy.
• Strong content creation capabilities with the ability to translate complex litigation concepts into compelling marketing narratives.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; a polished professional comfortable interacting with senior partners and firm leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp), and CRM tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Preferred
• Experience marketing commercial litigation, healthcare law, or white collar defense services.
• Familiarity with the South Florida and national legal market landscape.
• Experience working in a lean, self-directed environment without a large marketing team.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus given the firm's South Florida market presence.
• Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or JD preferred but not required.
• Membership or involvement in Legal Marketing Association (LMA) or similar professional organizations.
