Job description

Department: Global Parts

Reports to: Wholesale Parts Manager

Salary: $53,000 - $80,000

Job Summary

Increase Parts Sales with existing accounts and prospect for new accounts in assigned territory. Develop strong, long-term relationships with repair shops and body shops, serving as a trusted advisor and first-choice supplier. Promote Rochester Motor Cars’ OEM parts value against competitors, while maintaining accounts through face-to-face and phone contacts. The Outside Sales Representative will work on a daily itinerary assigned by management and is responsible for submitting a daily email report of each stop, including account status, customer needs, and any required follow-up.

 

Core Responsibilities

 Customer & Sales Growth

  • Regularly visits assigned customers and proactively prospects for new customers
  • Develops strong, long-term relationships with repair shops and body shops, serving as a trusted advisor and first-choice supplier.
  • Understands competitor offerings and differentiates Rochester Motor Cars’ OEM parts value to shops.
  • Ability consistently meets or exceeds monthly sales goals and territory growth expectations.

Customer Support & Service

  • Promotes the sales of parts and accessories and is an advisor to wholesale customers.
  • Follows up on and confirms customer requirements and orders to ensure satisfaction.
  • Deliver orders and pick-up returns as required.

Operations & Administration

  • Works on an assigned daily itinerary provided by management.
  • Submits a daily email report at the end of each day, documenting each stop, customer status and follow-up items
  • In conjunction with Credit Manager, establishes method of payment on wholesale parts and may obtain credit approvals.
  • Completes necessary paperwork for processing warranty claims.
  • Reviews special orders and pricing with Parts managers for approvals.
  • Efficiently and effectively manages required reports and paperwork (budgets, travel, call reports, expense reporting, timesheets, etc.)
  • Maintains customer records and logs.
  • Exhibits accountability by maintaining accurate call logs, customer notes and following up on commitments made to shops.

Learning & Development

  • Learn and understand all aspects of a Parts department.

Job Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • Automotive, collision repair, or motor vehicle industry experience
  • 1+ year of inside or outside sales experience with a proven ability reach, maintain and achieve sales goals/quotas
  • Ability to work independently in the field, manage daily call schedules, and report findings to management.
  • Must have ability to travel throughout assigned territory
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Clear driving record required
