Job description

The "Support Local" Photography Gig

Tired of the corporate, out-of-state assembly lines? If you love connecting with families in our community, catching genuine smiles from local kids, and want to work for a trusted, homegrown company where you are a valued team member—not just an ID number—we want to meet you!

About Us

At Rowland Studio, we have proudly been our community’s top choice for school, youth sports, and portraits since 1947. For nearly 80 years, we’ve been capturing the moments that local families cherish for generations. While massive, out-of-town corporate photography brands focus on cutting corners and rushing local kids through a conveyor-belt system, we focus on authentic portraits, friendly neighborly service, and premium imagery.

As a deeply rooted local business that continues to grow and serve our area's schools, we are looking for high-energy, passionate, and reliable photographers right here in our neighborhood to join our seasonal event crews.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us (The Rowland Advantage)

  • Deeply Rooted Local Connection: All of our accounts are right here in the region. You get to shoot at the schools, recreation centers, and sports fields in your own community—no grueling, out-of-state travel required.
  • True Team Environment: We are local owners who are directly involved. You won’t be dealing with a distant corporate HR department; you’ll be working with a passionate local crew that values history and family.
  • Top-Tier Equipment: Work with modern, professional lighting and camera systems provided entirely by the company.
  • Paid Hands-On Training: Never done high-volume school or sports portraits before? No problem. We pay you locally to learn our exact lighting setups, pacing techniques, and capture software.

What You'll Do

  • Set the Stage: Help set up and break down professional mobile studio gear (lights, backdrops, cameras, and computers) at nearby schools and sports venues.
  • Capture the Magic: Direct, pose, and photograph local students and athletes quickly while maintaining exceptional image quality and consistent framing.
  • Bring the Energy: Create a fun, positive, and fast-paced environment that makes community kids feel confident and comfortable in front of the lens.
  • Stay Organized: Utilize our data-capture software to ensure accurate student/athlete matching for automated order processing.

Who You Are (Our Local Match)

  • The Community Connector: You have an outgoing, charismatic personality. You love working with people and can easily get a rowdy sports team or a shy student to crack a real smile.
  • Familiar with the Area: You know the local roads and are comfortable navigating to various school and field locations across our regional territory.
  • Ultra-Reliable: You possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable commute, and a stellar track record for punctuality (local call times can be early!).
  • Prior experience in portraiture, event photography, or youth-focused local industries (coaching, camp counseling, teaching) is a massive bonus!

Company Description

Rowland Studio has proudly been our community’s trusted choice for school and sports portraits since 1947. We trade the rigid corporate conveyor belt for authentic images and friendly local service. Join a deeply rooted, homegrown team where your creative talent makes a true local impact!
