SUMMARY:
The Team Photographer is a full-time, at-will position responsible for creating and delivering high-quality visual content that reflects and elevates the values, identity, and brand of Utah Royals FC and other affiliated organizations within Miller Sports and Entertainment (MSE), including Real Salt Lake, Real Monarchs, the RSL Academy, Salt Lake Bees and Megaplex entities. This role requires coverage of matches, training sessions, community events, and special projects, producing a wide range of assets for digital, print, and in-stadium platforms. The Team Photographer collaborates closely with the Director of Content Production to ensure all visual needs across the organization are met.
Applicants must provide a portfolio link demonstrating recent, relevant photography work.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Capture high-quality games, training, portrait, and lifestyle photography that showcases players, fans, and the club's identity.
  • Lead and execute photoshoots for media day, kit launches, schedule releases, sponsor activations, and editorial features.
  • Provide rapid-turnaround edits for breaking news moments, including signings, announcements, and urgent marketing needs.
  • Travel to at least 90% of away matches and capture at least 90% of home matches throughout the NWSL season.
  • Photograph community events, youth initiatives, and club programs to highlight the team's impact beyond the pitch.
  • Maintain and manage the Utah Royals FC digital photo archive, ensuring proper organization, naming, and distribution.
  • Support photography needs for MSE entities when requested, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and content strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with social media, videography, and content teams to deliver cohesive and consistent visual storytelling.
  • Produce photography that fulfills NWSL, league partner, and sponsor requirements across digital and commercial platforms.
  • Uphold professionalism, reliability, and strong communication when working with players, staff, executives, and partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 3 years of professional photography experience, preferably in sports, live events, or editorial storytelling.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Lightroom and Photoshop (Premiere Pro experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated creativity, attention to detail, and ability to produce high-quality work on tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and frequent travel throughout the season.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, including snow, rain, heat, and varying field conditions.
  • Proven ability to work professionally around athletes, coaches, executives, and high-profile individuals.
  • Reliable, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in photography, marketing or related field
  • Basic knowledge of soccer
  • Familiarity with Canon camera bodies and lenses

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The job requires regularly lifting/pushing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 50 pounds or exerting heavy force, in a wide disparity or environmental conditions. The job involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
