Established in 1967, Boston Ski and Sports Club (BSSC) is the largest, longest running, and premier provider of adult recreation in the region. For nearly six decades, BSSC has been an important part of this active, sports-loving city of Boston, providing an extensive set of opportunities for people to get out and play. Whether the passion is for sports, skiing, travel or just being social, BSSC is honored to deliver the events, organization, service and fun so our customers can keep doing what they love. We are looking for the right energetic, detail-oriented sports professional to join us in our important mission, and this is your chance to work for a fun, casual company doing work in a field you love.
The Sports Program Manager is a key member of the BSSC team. This full time position reports to the Assistant Sports Director. The typical schedule includes 1-3 nights per week, some weekend work, and the opportunity for 1-2 days of remote work. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for year round adult soccer & futsal programs, but may also include additional sports programs. They will also work closely with 4-5 other program managers to ensure that all sports programming is running at the highest standards.
Sports Program Manager Responsibilities:
  • Effectively plan, organize, and promote program offerings to ensure continuing growth, maximum customer satisfaction and achievement of financial goals.
  • Communicate with team captains and players, fostering positive relationships, encouraging ongoing league participation, and providing information and materials as needed.
  • Provide at-league support for both the primary programs and other sports programs. At-league responsibilities include customer service, trouble shooting and social media posts.
  • Create league schedules and maintain league standings.
  • Organize, sort, deliver and maintain various league supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct frequent field & gym checks, maintenance, and repair as needed.
  • Work closely with and manage officials and facilities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all BSSC events and activities, as well as company policies/procedures, in order to sell effectively, provide accurate information, and provide service in all areas of the company.

Sports Program Manager Requirements:
  • Minimum BA/BS, preferably in sports management.
  • Minimum 2-4 years working in a program management and/or customer service setting, preferably in a sports setting.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and Word. Familiarity with league management platforms is also a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, communication skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
  • Must own a car that will be needed for night/weekend visits.
  • Love of the game.
