The sports department is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Department Intern to join PIX11 in New York City. This internship is designed for someone interested in learning the fast-paced world of sports television production and gaining hands-on experience in a live newsroom environment.
The Sports Production Intern will support the sports team in the daily development and execution of sports content across broadcast and digital platforms. This role offers exposure to story development, show planning, research, guest preparation, and production coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, curious, collaborative, and eager to learn about sports storytelling in a professional television setting.
Responsibilities:
• Assist producers and on-air talent with daily show preparation and content development
• Support the team with research on sports stories, trending topics, and potential guests
• Help brainstorm show themes, segment ideas, and graphics elements
• Assist with scripts, rundowns, and production notes as needed
• Coordinate with writers, producers, and digital team members to help keep projects organized and updated
• Monitor breaking sports news and flag relevant developments to the team
