Job description

WLWT, the Hearst Television owned NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, is looking for an energetic, self-motivated Sports Intern to join the News 5 Sports team for another exciting season of The Blitz 5.

What You'll Do

You'll be an important part of our sports operation, helping bring one of Cincinnati's favorite high school football shows to life. Throughout the season, you'll:

  • Coordinate with local schools, coaches, and athletic departments
  • Help gather game information, scores, and story ideas
  • Edit highlights and assist with video production
  • Create and publish content for digital and television platforms
  • Work alongside experienced sports journalists in a fast-paced newsroom

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in sports broadcasting while building your editing, producing, and storytelling skills.

Internship Dates

August 17 - November 13

Required Weekly Schedule

  • Monday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
  • Thursday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
