SUMMARY:ย ย ย 

Theย Long Island Netsย Seasonalย Internship is a part-time, paid program that runs fromย October 14th,ย 2026ย toย Mayย 13th, 2027. Start and end dates can be flexible depending on your academic calendar.ย ย 

Seasonal Interns are expected to work about 20-40 hours per week with some days expected to be in office and other days remote. Each intern will be assigned to a specific department in which they will remain or rotate for the duration of the program. All internships with the Long Island Nets will require flexibility to work games and events, including evenings, weekends and holidays.ย 

Program hours for this internship will take place at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY with occasional hoursย workedย at our headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.ย

Summary:ย Theย Business Operations Intern supports theย Long Islandย Netsย day-to-day business, administration, and gameday functions. This role provides hands-on experience across sports business operations while collaborating with teams throughout the organization to support key goals and initiatives.ย 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:ย You will supportย gamedayย and eventย logistics, budget and expense tracking, administrative projects, and the preparation of reports, presentations, and dashboards.ย You'llย alsoย assistย with Kids Zone operations and serve as a liaison between the business staff andย Basketballย Operations.ย 

WHO YOU ARE:ย You are an organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual with an interest in sports business and operations.ย You'reย a collaborative and dependable teammate who is comfortable working across departments, managing multiple priorities, and contributingย inย both office and gameday environments.ย 

Communications Internย 

Summary:ย The Public Relations Intern supports team communications, media relations, and gameday PR operations throughout theย Long Island Netsย season. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside theย Communicationsย Coordinator at games, practices, and media availabilities.ย 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:ย You will support gameday PR activations, lead media credentialย creationย and distribution, andย assistย with basketball communications and media availability.ย You'llย also attend games and practices while helping ensure communications operations are handled efficiently and professionally.ย 

WHO YOU ARE:ย You are a professional, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with an interest in public relations, sports communications, and media relations. You exercise discretion when handling sensitive information and are prepared to work collaboratively in the fast-paced environment of games and practices.ย ย 

Game Presentation Internย 

Summary:ย The Game Presentation Intern supports the planning and execution ofย Long Island Netsย home games, theme nights, andย special eventsย to help create engaging fan experiences. This role provides hands-on experience across live sports production, entertainment programming, and gameday operations.ย 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:ย You will support gameday execution by stage managing, coordinating performers and entertainment talent, managing props and promotional inventory, andย assistingย with sponsored activations and fan engagement initiatives.ย You'llย also contribute to eventย logistics, run-of-show preparation, scheduling, and creative ideas for theme nights and entertainment programming.ย

Summary:ย The Marketing Intern supports the development and execution of engaging content and marketing initiatives across social media, email, digital, print, and in-arena channels. This role provides hands-on experience in content creation, campaign execution, and marketing performance analysis.ย 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:ย You will capture and edit event highlights, create social media recaps, support email marketing, andย assistย with campaigns across multiple channels.ย You'llย also track audience engagement, campaign performance, and industry trends toย identifyย opportunities and help strengthen future marketing efforts.ย 

WHO YOU ARE:ย You are a creative, detail-oriented individual with experience in videography, camera operation, and content editing. Partnerships & Community Relations Internย 

Summary:ย The Partnerships and Community Relations Intern supports partnership development, activation, and community engagement initiatives.ย This role provides hands-on experience in sports partnerships, business development, social impact, and relationship building withย corporateย partners and community organizations.ย 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:ย You will research prospective partners, developย briefsย and recap materials, track partnership performance, and support partner events andย game nightย activations.ย You'llย alsoย assistย with community programming, ticket distribution, team and player engagement, and relationship building with organizations that align with the Long Island Nets' community pillars.ย

Ticket Sales Internย 

Summary:ย The Ticket Sales and Service Intern supports sales initiatives, season ticket member benefits, and gameday fan experiences. This role provides hands-on experience in ticket sales, business development, customer engagement, and ticketing operations.ย 

WHAT YOUย WILL DO:ย You will research and prospect new business, conduct outreach to prospective clients, and support the planning and execution of season ticket member benefits.ย You'llย alsoย maintainย sales and ticketing information inย Ticketmasterย Archticsย and Salesforce whileย assistingย with fan engagement and on-court experiences on game days.ย 

WHO YOU ARE:ย You are an outgoing, motivated, and relationship-oriented individual with an interest in sales, customer service, and the business of sports.ย You'reย comfortable engaging with prospective clients and fans, managing details, and contributing to memorable gameday experiences in a fast-paced environment.ย 

COMPENSATIONย 

Our seasonal internship program compensation is $18 per hour. Interns are expected to work between 20-40 hoursย per week.ย

  • This program is designed for college seniors, students engaged in graduate studies, or recent graduates.ย 
  • All interns mustย be authorized toย work in the US for any employer.ย 
  • All roles will require onsite work. You willย be requiredย to work hours at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in addition to occasional hours at our headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn,ย ย 
  • Allย roles will require flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays, to fulfill primary roleย objectives.ย
