We currently have a role as a Senior Splunk Expert with our large consulting client on a long term project with a major financial services client in the downtown Montreal area.

Role: Senior Splunk Expert

Type: Contract 40 hrs/week

Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)

Contract Rate Option: $100 - $105/hr C2C

About the Role

Our client, is seeking a Senior Splunk Expert to join its Observability team.

This consultant will play a key role in the modernization, operation, automation, and continuous improvement of the Splunk platform while supporting multiple internal client teams. The environment is built around modern platform engineering principles, Infrastructure as Code practices, cloud technologies, and self-service capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Splunk specialist with strong experience in data onboarding, observability, cloud environments, and automation. This individual will act as a trusted technical advisor while collaborating closely with platform, infrastructure, security, and product teams.

Responsibilities
  • Modernize and operate the Splunk platform within an AWS/EKS environment.
  • Design, manage, and maintain Splunk configurations using Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Administer Splunk applications and configurations including props/transforms, Technology Add-ons (TAs), HEC, routing, RBAC, and data ingestion pipelines.
  • Industrialize data onboarding processes using HEC, S2S, Edge Processor, and Ingest Processor.
  • Develop advanced searches, dashboards, alerts, and reporting capabilities.
  • Support internal client teams by providing technical guidance and best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable observability solutions.
  • Contribute to self-service capabilities and platform automation initiatives.
  • Ensure data quality, standardization, and governance across the Splunk ecosystem.
  • Participate in code reviews and automated deployment processes.
  • Deliver knowledge transfer and mentor internal teams on Splunk best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Splunk Administrator or Splunk Expert.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise administration.
  • Proven experience integrating data from multiple sources.
  • Strong experience creating advanced searches, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
