Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a System Administrator to join the Security and Electronic team. The System Administrator will support the design, engineering, integration, operation, and maintenance of electronic security services. There are positions available in Ft. Belvoir and Chantilly, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to support federal customers in an exciting and engaging opportunity.

Responsibilities for the System Administrator
  • Implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across traditional IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems.
  • Familiarity with system hardening, patch management, and STIG implementation.
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows/Linux servers, network devices, and OT systems supporting electronic security infrastructure.
  • Perform system hardening, patching, and configuration management in accordance with DoD STIGs and security baselines.
  • Performing vulnerability scanning and documenting system vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in network and control system troubleshooting, including firewalls, switches, and segmented OT networks.
Required Qualifications for the System Administrator
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • 3+ years (Master's), 5+ years (Bachelor's) IT, Cybersecurity, or Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of DoD RMF lifecycle, NIST 800-53 controls, and supporting documentation (e.g., eMASS, POA&M).
  • Hands-on experience with ACAS, HBSS, vulnerability scanning, mitigation, and STIG implementation across systems.
  • Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and manage control networks and security components.
  • One of the following certifications is required: CASP CE, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, CSSLP, CISA, CISM, GCED, or GCIH.
Compensation for the System Administrator
  • Salary range: $100,000 - $135,000 *depending on experience*
