Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Cyber Network Defense Analyst to join our Cybersecurity Operations team supporting the AFNCR IT Services (AFNCRIT) program. The Cyber Network Defense Analyst located at Joint Base Andrews will augment 844th Communications Group in implementing DoD, Air Force, and AFDW cybersecurity policies, programs and initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate Assessment and Authorization efforts for AFDW enclaves.
  • Support the AFDW mission defense team (MDT) in performing DCO-IDM for AFDW portion of the AFIN.
  • Support the AFDW MDT in conducting active and passive DCO-IDM to monitor, audit, detect, report, analyze and mitigate threats to mission relevant and key terrain in cyberspace (MRT-C/KT-C) Support development and management of cybersecurity policy, programs and compliance.
  • Implement a Computer Network Defense (CND) team to respond to computer security incidents, Information Condition (INFOCON) level changes, and Classified Message Incidents (CMIs)
  • Work with entities for firewall rule changes and DLP waivers
  • 8140 compliance

Basic Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience additional years of applicable experience will be accepted lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or higher DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification must meet 8140 ISSM role qualification.
  • ACAS and HBSS
  • STIG Viewer and STIG auditing
  • POA&Ms
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to brief status to high level Government leadership and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting USAF, DISA, or other DoD mission systems.
  • Familiarity with eMASS, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), or HBSS.
  • Ability to adress and assess RMF Security Controls
  • Ability to communicate risk-based recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of automation tools/scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Nessus APIs) to support scan or report optimization.
