Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking an experienced WiFi Engineer IV - onsite in Greenwood Village, CO. This is a senior-level engineering role responsible for providing technical leadership in the design, testing, certification, and deployment of next-generation wireless technologies supporting Spectrum's residential and business customers.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with WiFi 5, WiFi 6, WiFi 7, LTE, and emerging wireless technologies, along with a strong understanding of customer premise equipment (CPE), wireless gateways, routing, switching, and network performance optimization. This individual will work across engineering, operations, and vendor teams to evaluate new technologies, improve customer experience, and support the evolution of Spectrum's wireless infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership for the development, testing, and deployment of advanced wireless technologies and solutions
* Design and support end-to-end wireless architectures spanning customer devices (CPE), access, transport, core, and backend systems
* Evaluate, test, and certify new wireless products, including: Home and SMB routers; Wireless Access Points (APs); Wireless Access Gateways (WAGs); Controllers; Small Cell technologies
* Perform laboratory validation and field trials to verify new technology concepts and product capabilities
* Partner with Operations teams to investigate and resolve WiFi and mobile network performance issues affecting customers
* Drive innovation around emerging wireless technologies, including Mesh networking, 802.11ad/ay, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), and Broadband Network Convergence (BNC)
* Develop engineering tools, testing methodologies, and certification processes that improve product quality and deployment readiness
* Support initiatives focused on network performance, security, virtualization, customer experience, and next-generation wireless services
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
* MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus
* 7+ years of experience in wireless engineering, wireless technology development, or network engineering
* Experience supporting or developing wireless solutions for major MSOs, telecommunications providers, satellite operators, or leading wireless equipment vendors
* Hands-on experience with wireless product testing, validation, certification, and deployment
* Experience troubleshooting complex wireless network performance and customer experience issues
* Deep expertise in: WiFi 5, WiFi 6, and WiFi 7; 4G LTE
* Familiarity with 5G wireless technologies
* Strong understanding of wireless network architecture, CPE platforms, wireless gateways, and router technologies
* Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including: Routing; Switching; Network security
* Proficiency using network diagnostics and analytics platforms such as: Splunk; SQL; Plume; Scope
* Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
* Ability to manage multiple technical initiatives in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Spectrum or large-scale cable/MSO environments
* Experience working with wireless access gateways, mesh networking, or IoT platforms
* Experience participating in vendor selection, product evaluations, or technology roadmap planning
* Knowledge of DOCSIS, broadband networking, or home networking ecosystems
* Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud-native networking concepts
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
