Job description

Location:ย ย Remote:ย Race Communications is only accepting remote candidates who reside in the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Indiana and Illinois. If you do not reside in one of these states, you are not eligible for remote employment.

Location Status:ย Work will be primarily performed remotely from home office. Employee will be required to utilize personal phone and internet services to perform telecommuting with reimbursement according to Race's Telecommuting policy. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or off-site locations may be required.

Position Impact:

The Splice Technician Coordinator is integral in facilitating coordination between splice technicians and contracted splice crews. Key responsibilities include providing essential cut sheets and location details to both internal and external teams, closely monitoring daily production against work orders, overseeing project progression to ensure timely completion, and maintaining adequate material supplies for splice crews while promptly addressing any supply needs.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:ย 

  • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
  • Telecom experience is a plus
  • Experience with, AutoCad and google earth
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication

Skills:

  • Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications
  • Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinating Crew Activities:

  • Organizes and oversees daily activities of splice technician crews to ensure efficient operations

Project Tracking and Documentation:

  • Manages project tracking information such as production sheets, work orders, and customer-required paperwork to ensure accurate documentation of project progress and completion

Following Engineer Instructions:

  • Reads and follows design engineer's instructions and specifications while maintaining the scope of work on the project and adhering to safety procedures

Data and Enclosure Splicing:

  • Keeps track of data and enclosure splicing activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and ensure proper documentation and reporting of splicing activities

Managing Splicers:

  • Maintains records of both internal and external splicers, coordinate schedules, assignments, and ensure that splicing teams are adequately resourced
  • Monitors and tracks billing activities from contractors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoicing
  • Maintains organized records of contractor billing statements and invoices for reconciliation and reporting purposes

Material Management:

  • Tracks materials required for splicing crews and place requests for additional materials as needed to support project requirements

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Effectively communicates with internal teams and external contractors to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and ensure project success

Other duties as assigned.
