Job Summary:

As a Fiber Splice Technician, you will serve as the technical lead in the field, performing fiber splicing, testing, activation, troubleshooting, and documentation activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform end-to-end splicing on aerial and underground fiber optic cables.
  • Use OTDRs, power meters, and light-level testing equipment.
  • Diagnose splice loss, attenuation, and network issues.
  • Interpret blueprints, splice diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Create accurate as-built documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage daily production reports and material reconciliation.
  • Maintain organized inventories of tools and hardware.
  • Communicate professionally with property owners and residents.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience with fusion splicing and fiber architecture.
  • Experience with Google Earth, EXFO/OTDR software, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to read splice matrices and technical PDFs.
  • Ability to perform aerial and underground field work.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime.
