Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Assistant Public Services Supervisor, DPWS Supervisor, and/or the DPWS Director, performs supervision of the Eastpointe Splash Pad at Kennedy Park and prepares the Splash Pad area for daily use. Responsible for maintenance and enforcement of Splash Pad regulations and policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable patron experience. The Splash Pad Attendant is employed on a seasonal basis.
Essential Job Functions
  • Prepares the Splash Pad for patron use on a daily basis.
  • Checks patrons in and out of the Splash Pad.
  • Prepares accurate daily reports and maintains accurate records.
  • Performs cleanup of the Splash Pad area, including litter and garbage removal.
  • Maintains order and enforces the rules of the Splash Pad.
  • Interacts with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications include the following:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to use good judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness when interacting with patrons.
Preferred qualifications include the following:
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to hot, wet and/or humid conditions.
The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, climb, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. The employee must be mobile in an outdoor setting, stand, sit, stoop and kneel, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items of light weight.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outdoors. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
