Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Join our team at Scientific Protein Laboratories (SPL), a world leader in biosourced pharmaceuticals, located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin in Waunakee! SPL is an innovative biopharmaceutical leader with unique products and services supporting the pharmaceutical industry globally. For over 40 years, SPL specializes in the development and cGMP compliant manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). SPL has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Production Administrator.
This position is responsible, under indirect supervision, to perform all activities necessary to support the manufacturing of SPL products according to specifications.
Responsibilities include:
  • Under indirect supervision, understands and applies cGMP's, Standard Operating Procedures, safety practices, and other pertinent material through films, reading and on the job training to support the production of high quality products safely.
  • Ensures documents required for production, such as manufacturing instructions, packaging instructions, cleaning logbooks, etc. are available for use when needed by production.
  • Reviews for correction, manufacturing instructions, cleaning logs, packaging instructions, and any other pertinent records.
  • Tracks usage of raw materials used in production, and works with Purchasing to issue PO's and maintain appropriate inventory levels of all raw materials.
  • Utilizes Excel to perform data collection, entry, and basic manipulation.
  • Utilizes electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) to initiate and complete Deviations, Non-Conformances, CAPA's, CIA's etc.
  • Documents and maintains spreadsheets of key production parameters as directed.
  • Recommends and assists in updates for documents such as manufacturing instructions, SOP's, equipment instructions, work instructions, packaging instructions, etc.
  • Primary ERP / MRP administrator for the department; acts as backup ERP / MRP administrator for other departments as needed.
  • Primary contact for accounting to resolve ERP / MRP transaction issues.
  • Works directly to address sales needs, including requesting product labels, customer labels, shipping documentation, etc.
  • Utilizes good housekeeping practices to ensure work areas are neat and sanitary.
  • Coordinates year-end product inventory.
  • Adheres to established work schedules in a consistently reliable manner, performs job responsibilities, and delivers work products on a dependable and timely basis. Punctuality and good attendance required.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by management.
  • Must communicate with various departments on a regular basis.
  • Ensures backfill is properly trained to perform tasks in times of absence.
  • Ensures that procedures for job duties are clear and complete.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, Associate's Degree or above in related discipline preferred
Experience: 5 plus years required, 10 plus years preferred
