Job description

Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center is seeking a part time Housekeeper to clean, restock, and maintain the facility rooms.
Responsibilities:
• Prepares rooms for retreats and prioritizes rooms requesting early cleaning based on calendar of events.
• Checks the inventory of cleaning cart and adds any necessary supplies.
• Knocks and announces self before entering room; returns at a later time if rooms are occupied.
• Removes soiled linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets from each assigned room and provides fresh replacements.
• Neatly makes beds and stocks towels, washcloths, and hand towels according to policies.
• Cleans and disinfects bathroom and kitchenette or coffee-preparation areas according to retreat center policies.
• Wipes surfaces in room and cleans mirrors.
• Vacuums floors and removes trash.
• Ensures room meets retreat center standards with a final walkaround.
• Notifies maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs.
• Takes found items to designated lost and found area if guest has checked out.
• Greet guests warmly and friendly.
• Assists guests with inquiries, directions, and information about the facility and programs.
• Handle guest complaints and issues promptly, efficiently, and courteously escalating to the Program Manager when necessary.
• Collect all dirty linen, bag it, put it in cart. Roll the cart to the lobby for pickup by the linen service vendor.
• Set up linen and cleaning cart.
• Start cleaning all unoccupied rooms. Make beds, wipe down furniture and windowsills, empty trash, vacuum and clean bathrooms. Stock with clean towels, hand towels, washcloths, complimentary Dixie cups, bar soap, bathmats, toilet paper, mop floor, and clean mirrors.
• Vacuum hallways and dust baseboards. Dust hallways, tables, and lamps. Place complimentary Kleenex in the rooms.
• Order all linen from laundry service vendor.
• Order all cleaning supplies and toiletries.
• Sweep and mop 3 flights of stair wells. Clean, mop, and stock all main bathrooms.
• Clean all meeting rooms by dusting, vacuuming, wiping furniture, windowsills, cleaning glass doors and mirrors, and take out the trash.
• Dust, dry, and wet mop breezeway floor. Clean windowsills and water the plants.
• Dust, dry, and wet mop floor. Vacuum carpet, wipe down pews, altar, and organ, and glass tables and door. Help with altar clothes, replace holy water. Take out trash.
• Dust, wipe down furniture, clean glass tables and windowsills. Vacuum garden room.
• Clean, dust, vacuum, and straighten furniture in the library.
• Clean elevator and shampoo rugs.
• Dust, mop, vacuum, and clean glass doors and empty trash in the lobby area.
Requirements
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
• Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
• Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
Education and Experience
- Prior experience working in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Sufficient education and literacy are needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English necessary.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Willingness to work a rotation seven-day work cycle with occasional afternoon shifts as well as some holidays.

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
