Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, senior full-time Store Manager with demonstrated track record of sales leadership, customer service, team building, communications and retail operations management. These skills, plus creative and innovative merchandising and marketing ideas are even better!



Job Summary:

The Store Manager is responsible for all aspects of the retail store operations and for the strategy and development of their people and communities. The Manager builds capabilities within their team to drive strategy and achieve results for their business today and tomorrow. Managers are responsible for leading self, leading others, and leading the organization. Above all, the Manager intimately understands that the guests are the foundation of our business!

Employee Management:

Skilled in recruiting, training, and supervising new staff- hiring, firing, developing and conducting quarterly performance evaluations.

Conduct daily pre-shift and monthly staff meetings to ensure organizational efficiency.

Development and approval of work schedules managing labor hours. This is our biggest and best investment- our people.



Facilities/ Corporate Responsibilities:

Obtain Serv Safe certification, practice proper food safety, and hold employees to the same values.

Produce results that meet or exceed the company's quarterly and annual sales goals.

Innovate and create new ideas that will increase business (sales and productivity).

Track material and supply inventory and place orders.

Assume full accountability for all P&L results: labor, food costs, and other variables.

Optimize profits by controlling product and labor costs daily.

Maintain a high standard of quality hygiene, health, and safety.

Continually monitor the store and take appropriate action to ensure food quality and service standards are consistently met.

Ensure facility and equipment are maintained to company standards.

Attract and maintain exceptional relationships with wholesale partners.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the Spices & Tea Industry.

Explore opportunities to add additional value to The Spice & Tea Exchange and schedule community events.

Adhere to company standards including personal hygiene and appearance.

Adhere to health and safety standards when handling food.


Preferred Requirements:

Minimum of 3 year experience in retail environment. Specialty food and/or gift shop a plus but not required.

Minimum 2-3 years demonstrated retail operations management (manager or assistant manager): sales, people, product, and point of sale systems.

Open full-time salaried position that includes evenings and weekends.

Strong selling experience required with the proven ability to meet or exceed performance standards.

Interest, affinity for culinary arts, fine cuisine, nutrition, wellness, spices and teas.

Strong organizational skills to manage a fast paced environment with many moving parts.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required.

Proven experience in attracting, developing and retaining strong talent.

Strong work ethic and personal integrity/honesty.

Excellent team building and leadership skills; we are looking for a seasoned people-oriented manager.

Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL A MUST! We blend, package and label most of our products.

Ability to effectively maneuver around sales floor and stockroom, repetitive bending, prolong standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, ascending/descending, reaching, and lifting to stock and merchandise storefrequently.

Constantly exposed to spice and herb aromas.
