Job description

NOW OPEN: Moffitt Cancer Center at Speros (MAS), will be a 91,000 square-feet full-service outpatient facility and 26,000 square-feet Proton Therapy Center designed and equipped to provide the same level of cancer care we provide at our main hospital.

Treatment services:

  • Oncology physician office visits
  • Infusion services
  • Blood draw area and clinical laboratory
  • Diagnostic Imagining
  • Radiation therapy
  • Proton therapy

Our MAS Clinic is currently looking for a PRN Registered Nurse to care for our patients seeking outpatient oncology treatment. This position will support Multispecialty Clinic, Blood Draw Clinic, and Infusion Clinic.

 The Registered Nurse must be willing to train at all Moffitt MAC locations: South Shore, International Plaza Tampa, Wesley Chapel

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Breast oncology, Solid tumor, GU, and Heme experience as a registered nurse
  • Outpatient clinic experience as a registered nurse
  • Flexibility to learn and support multispecialty oncology focus'
  • Administering IV fluids, IV antibiotics, Chemotherapy, Blood, Platelets
  • Accessing ports and changing central line dressings
  • Chemotherapy Certification
  • Strong assessment skills

Responsibilities:

  • Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of cancer patients and families. Integrates patient and family centered care and the quality caring factors into practice
  • Identifies, documents, and provides patient education based on learning needs of the patient
  • Participates in Evidence based improvement activities related to area of practice
  • Participates in professional development based on the nursing professionals standards, regulatory requirements, and job expectations

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing 
  • In lieu of Bachelors, an Associate's degree in Nursing plus 1 year of relevant experience may be considered
  • Preferred Education-Master's Degree
  • Registered Nurse (RN) RN-Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL, or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL (must declare FL as primary State of residence within 30 days from date of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi-state privileges)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
