They work with individuals who have difficulties with speech, language, voice, fluency, or feeding and swallowing. SLPs work in various settings such as schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private practice. Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) often encounter challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences in communication styles, and varying levels of family involvement when working with diverse patient populations. Adapting assessment tools and therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of each individual requires flexibility and cultural competence.
