Primary Purpose:
Provide professional development and direct support to campus personnel in the implementation of special
education instructional and behavioral programs. Work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide
the most appropriate instructional programs and settings for students with disabilities.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas special education teacher certificate
Valid Texas content area or generalist teacher certificate
Master's degree in special education or educational leadership preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of best practices in providing special education services in a variety of settings
Knowledge of best practices in behavioral support for students with disabilities
Ability to interpret data
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Successful experience in a special education assessment, leadership, and/or teaching role
Successful experience in teaching and/or leading in a general education setting
