Job description

Seeking a full-time BE/BC General Surgeon to join team in Southern OR. This is a rare opportunity to step into a true, broad-spectrum general surgery practice with a robust volume, exceptional local tenure, and a major upcoming infrastructure investment . If you are looking for a practice focused on high-quality patient outcomes with excellent APP support rather than corporate volume, this is your team.
Step into a role that combines a diverse case mix with a highly attractive lifestyle model in a stunning Pacific Northwest mountain town.
  • Clinical Practice: A true broad-spectrum general surgery practice covering an even mix of open, laparoscopic, GI, ENT, urology, trauma, and endoscopic procedures (including colonoscopies) . Patient scope spans from pediatrics to geriatrics .
  • The Environment: You will join an established team of long-tenured surgeons (including partners who have been with the medical center since 1990 and 2001) . While currently working out of separate offices, a major building renovation is underway to bring all five surgeons under one modern roof within the next 12 to 18 months .
  • Exceptional Support: High-level support structure including two dedicated surgery APPs, with an APP paired with each surgeon in the clinic one day a week .
  • Academic Connection: Opportunity to engage in academic medicine through interaction with rotating family medicine residents .
  • Technology & Growth: While the hospital does not currently utilize robotic-assisted surgery, leadership is actively willing to invest in technologies like the Da Vinci platform for the right candidate .
  • Schedule & Call: A balanced, full-time Monday through Friday schedule (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM when not on call) . Clinical weeks typically consist of 2 days in the clinic, 2 days in the OR (including a full endo day of 12-14 cases and a general OR day of 5-6 cases), and 1 dedicated administrative day . Call is shared equally at 1:4 .
Compensation:
  • Base Salary: $475,000 - $527,000
  • Productivity Bonus: Additional RVU component paid out quarterly for productivity .
  • Sign-on Bonus: $75,000 (distributed over 3 years) .
  • Relocation Assistance: Comprehensive support for your move to Southern Oregon .
  • CME Allowance: $4,000 and 5 dedicated CME paid days off per year .
  • Visa Support: Visa sponsorship is available for both J-1 and H1-B candidates .

Area Information:
Charming city of 22,000 in southern Oregon known for its stunning natural beauty. Surrounded by mountains and forests, it's less than an hour's drive from Crater Lake National Park, offering endless opportunities for hiking, camping, fishing and other outdoor activities.
