Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Are you skilled at designing and presenting advanced network solutions for national business clients? As a Strategic Sales Engineer II at Spectrum, you will collaborate with account teams to deliver tailored proposals and technical support for fiber services, including Metro Ethernet, Wave, Internet, Video, SIP and PRI. Your consultative expertise will help clients achieve their business objectives and contribute to Spectrum’s leadership in enterprise connectivity.


How You Will Make an Impact 

  • Assess clients’ business and technical needs, providing strategic recommendations for Spectrum’s fiber solutions 
  • Deliver technical and product presentations, network design consulting and formal proposal writing for national accounts 
  • Focus on Metro Ethernet, Internet, Wave, VOIP, PRI and Video solutions, collaborating with Network Engineering, Operations and Product teams to develop unique service offerings 
  • Develop technical responses and strategies for RFIs and RFPs as an integral account team member 
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for Spectrum Business Data services, supporting solution development and proof of concept designs internally 
  • Present solutions to large enterprise customers and executive leaders, ensuring alignment with client requirements 
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to inform solution design and customer recommendations 
  • Ensure compliance with all Spectrum policies and procedures

What You Will Bring to Spectrum 


Required Qualifications 


Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited organization (GED)
  • CCDA or CCNA certification required 

Experience 

  • 5+ years of sales engineering and networking experience in the telecom or service provider industry 

Skills 

  • Read, write, speak and understand English 
  • In-depth knowledge across technical disciplines, including Data and Voice communications, IP security, converging technologies, VoIP/SIP, IP-VPN, DWDM, MPLS/VPLS, Metro Ethernet and LAN/WAN integration 
  • Experience designing and implementing complex Metro Ethernet, VOIP/SIP and MPLS solutions 
  • Proven success supporting and presenting to large enterprise customers and executive leadership 
  • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and auto insurance coverage 

Preferred Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in IT or equivalent training, education and experience  

Skills 

  • CCNP certification preferred 
  • MEF-CECP 2.0 certification preferred
