As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant community of Riverside, California, your role will extend beyond simply addressing communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you'll have the incredible opportunity to unlock potential, instill confidence, and nurture connections that span generations - from young children finding their first words to elderly individuals reclaiming their independence.
This position offers a unique chance to support a diverse spectrum of individuals. Your practice will encompass outpatient therapy while occasionally providing critical inpatient support. Whether you are enthusiastic about pediatric language milestones, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or advancing rehabilitation in geriatric patients, you will discover both personal satisfaction and professional adaptability.
Description
  • Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using a combination of standardized assessments and clinical observations.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate needs and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on areas such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to forge cohesive care plans.
  • Provide education for patients and families, enhancing their skills to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the patient journey.
  • Keep meticulous documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate with peers to stay at the forefront of advancements in the field.

Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for individuals of all ages, coupled with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in interactions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to modify therapy methods to embrace various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment alongside problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and documentation requirements.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary package reflective of your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling options to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance with diverse caseloads.
  • Opportunities to focus on specialties in pediatrics, adult neurorehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to recharge.
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
